At Kindred Custom Homes, we always say that the distance between a stunning architectural blueprint and a finished luxury home is measured in the thousands of high-stakes decisions that the project teams have to make. In a world where world-class architects and elite trades must play in perfect harmony, the contractor is the conductor who ensures every note lands on time.
Finding His Path
Marc’s journey into construction wasn’t a straight line—it was a process of exploration, curiosity, and discovery. During his early years at the University of Victoria, he took time to understand where his interests truly lay. That clarity began to take shape through his father, who had been an architect since the 1980s. Watching a home come together through thoughtful design and technical precision sparked something lasting for Marc, drawing him toward a career where design, engineering, and construction intersect.
That passion ultimately led him to BCIT, where he enrolled in the Architectural Building Technology program. It was there that Marc first connected with Kindred Construction. The design-forward nature of Kindred’s custom homes stood out immediately. The opportunity to work on highly detailed residences, where architectural intent is carefully protected through construction, aligned closely with Marc’s interests.
Managing Scale and Complexity
Marc now plays a key role in several of Kindred’s largest and most intricate homes. He has managed homes valued at up to $75 million, including residences exceeding 30,000 square feet. These luxury homes required a seasoned project manager who is able to work with high-end suppliers, sensitive materials, and international partners. On projects of this scale, his role extends well beyond oversight. He is deeply involved in design reviews, budgeting, sequencing, and trade coordination, using tools such as Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to resolve complex conditions before they reach the site. More importantly, Marc goes above and beyond to protect the integrity of the client’s vision, carefully stewarding it through every trade and decision to ensure the journey from concept to completion is seamless.
His experience includes complex homes such as West Terrace in Vancouver (32,000 SF, Formwerks Architectural) and Sword Fern Sanctuary at UBC (7,000 SF, Zacharko Yustin Architects), each requiring a tailored approach. From technological complexity to choosing skilled craftspeople to collaborating with bespoke architects, these projects require a highly seasoned project manager who brings a white-glove service to both the construction process and the client’s vision.
Elevating the Custom Home Experience
Working in luxury custom homes, Marc is deeply involved in the details that define how a project is experienced by both the client and the project team. He works closely with architects, designers, and trades to coordinate complex scopes, review drawings, and sequence work so that design intent is maintained from early construction through final finishes. His hands-on approach to budgeting and cost control allows decisions to be made clearly and proactively, helping projects stay aligned without compromising quality.
For Marc, Kindred’s commitment to building dream homes is realized through disciplined execution—balancing ambitious design with thoughtful planning to deliver custom residences that meet both the technical demands of construction and the expectations of discerning clients. Our claim “We build dream homes” is something he upholds daily, by ensuring that each client feels confident throughout the build process from design to handover.
